A day that dawned fairly and suspiciously enough, and ran its course with strange alternations of swelling gusts of wind, and sultry stillness, to end in darkness, and in tempest that rent the very earth, and left a swath of ruin and destruction in its path.The account continues to describe a tornado’s rampage through Monticello and total destruction of Sacred Heart Church. The Monticello School Board then offered the congregation the use of a vacant school building on the corner of Sixth and Cedar Streets. The plans for another church began.

A Parish Mission/Workshop presented by Anthony Digmann with his offering of personal insights on the first evening.
All four nights of the mission will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Monticello, Iowa.
The doors will be open at 6pm. The sessions begin at 7pm.
There will be music provided by the parish musicians from Sacred Heart & St. Luke prior to each session.
Each night a simple reception will follow the sessions in Newman Hall on the lower level of the Church.
Anthony Digmann teaches Theology at Beckman Catholic High School in Dyersville. He is also a noted Catholic author and speaker.
